Who is S.H.G.?

Hi all. I have chosen to author this blog site under the alias Sweetheart Girl. I will be blogging about my personal experiences as a "too nice" girl navigating single life and dating. In order to ensure privacy, all names have been changed.

I would like to think of myself as a recovering "too nice" girl, but I will not relinquish my title as Sweetheart Girl; a nickname given to me many years ago. It takes great strength and grace to remain kind in cruel situations, and that is ultimately my mantra. I know that there are many other "too nice" girls out there, and to you I say, "Namaste, and welcome to the Sweetheart Girl Club". You are not alone, as isolating as it can feel sometimes. Nice girls finish last too!

Here's what you may thinking: "I am smart, funny, attractive, talented, independent; the whole damn package - so why am I a creep magnet?" or "why do I keep getting rejected by men I'm actually interested in?" If I can be perfectly honest, I am still trying to figure this out myself. I'm actually mystified. I'm 28 years old, and it's just been one dumpster fire after another. With each one of these experiences I have done much reflective work to take into my next relationship because I want to learn and grow from my mistakes. I have meditated, gone to therapy, read self books, you name it I've done it. And yet, it's the same shit just a different day.

I don't want to be quiet anymore. I am sending this out into the universe for anyone who needs to hear it - there is nothing wrong with you, and you are worthy of love. I feel your pain. I hope this blog will make you laugh, reflect, relate and ultimately empower you to keep on being exactly who you are; a powerful boss babe. Sweetheart Girls Unite!
